Things got just a little bit stickier at Ellen Trout Zoo today.  Our female Porcupine named Tater woke up today (Wed October 23rd) to a new house mate.

This morning was a little more exciting than normal as our two African Crested Porcupines met for the first time. Tater, the current resident of the habitat met Dave Sharpelle, a new comer to the Ellen Trout Zoo. The introduction went as they usually do for porcupines, a bit prickly at first. The two are getting to know each other and have shared some breakfast. Come on out and wish Dave well as he wins over his new mate.

Hopefully all will go well, and we will get some little stickers in no time. A great way to catch the pair is attending the Ellen Trout Zoo Boo.

I love the names, Dave Sharpelle is great, but Tater for a girl has taken me aback. I am still getting over that one.

Zoo Director Gordon Henley sent along word today that we are all invited.
