Missing Lufkin Children Found Safe

Yesterday the Angelina County Sheriff's Office and Lufkin Police Department were searching for Xander McCarthy and Braden Willis. They had been missing from the Fuller Springs Area since June 3rd.

Here was the plea from the Sheriff's office at the time.

The Angelina County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the publics assistance in locating two missing children who are believed to have run away from home during the night of 6-3-2019. The two children are brothers. Xander McCarty who is a white male who is 5’10” and 130 pounds and was possibly wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans. Braden Willis who is a white male is described as being 4’0” and 90 pounds and was possibly wearing a white hoodie with a pink donut on it. If you see anyone matching this description or have any information on the location of the children please contact the Angelina County Sheriff’s Department at 936-634-3331 and select option #2.

I think they had ruled out a number of things, and that is why they have issued the plea. They were assuming that the kids ran away, and that appears to be what happened. Xander was found at McDonalds, and Braden was found at home.
