I talked a while back about how I had never watched The Walking Dead. Yes, I know, I need to turn over my nerd card. But during the quarantine, I fired up Netflix and started binge watching the series. Here are my thoughts as I'm halfway through season four.

THERE WILL BE SOME SPOILERS SO STOP NOW IF YOU HAVE NEVER WATCHED AND WERE THINKING ABOUT STARTING TO WATCH.

Let me start with the characters. Glenn is still my favorite but I became a big fan of Hershel during season three. I felt really bad for Carol and the Huge mistake she made to get jettisoned from the group. I will say that Michonne is moving to the top of my favorite characters list.

The Governor, as much of a despicable person as he was, is probably my favorite bad guy of any show I've ever watched. He did bring together a bunch of people and created a somewhat safe environment from the walkers but, oh man, was he so paranoid.

Perfect example of his paranoia, he wants the prison, where Rick and his group have settled, just because he wants the prison. Come on dude, you have a perfect environment (for the situation) to live in and you want a prison? So The Governor makes up a narrative to rally his people to take it over from a group that poses a zero threat. Dude was insane.

And when The Governor killed Hershel, I wanted to jump through the TV screen and slaughter him myself. I was so mad. I almost wanted to stop watching the show.

Thanks to The Governor's second attack on the prison (his demise made me smile), Rick's group is now scattered. I'm up to where Michonne found Rick and Carl in the house.

I'm regretting that I never got into this show when it was on. I'm loving every minute. When I'm watching with my girlfriend, she'll look at me and ask if something's wrong because I'm paying so much attention to every moment. I can't wait to watch more.
