Nacogdoches Gets New Venezuelan Food Truck
If you are looking to try Venezuelan food in Nacogdoches, until recently, there was no option at all. Avila Venezuelan Food is the first of its kind in the Oldest Town, now open at 141 East Austin Street.
Oscar Marquez and Aixa Garay are bringing their home cooking to the masses. Just look for a slick, black food truck flying the Venezuelan flag in the parking lot of Austin Street Laundry.
Marquez loves to cook and used to sell food in his home country when he was younger. The couple met in Venezuela, and now the two have lived in Nacogdoches for 10 years.
Food Truck A Dream Come True For Nacogdoches Couple
From setting up occasionally at local festivals to now having a full-time food truck in Nacogdoches, things are coming together. Their specialty dish is regarded as one of the best breakfasts in the world.
If you have never had Venezuelan arepas before, they are like an open corn flatbread that is stuffed. They fill them with everything from shredded beef and cheese to eggs and avocado.

According to the Lufkin Daily News, they are open Monday - Saturday from 10 AM to 7 PM. They have already set up online ordering via Toast and DoorDash.
