Official Opening Of Jones Park Pool Delayed In Lufkin, Texas
Lufkin City Councilman of Ward 2, Robert Shankle, along with the City of Lufkin have been putting in a lot of hard work to get the pool in Jones Park open again. The pool was set to open on Thursday, June 9th, 2022, and now there has been a delay.
The official announcement said that it was an unforeseen staffing issue pushing the pool’s opening back. They did know that finding lifeguards would be an issue, as it had been in the past, but it's apparently been harder than they originally thought.

School is out and temperatures are well above 90 degrees every day. It's hard for residents to walk by a perfect, sparkly pool at Jones Park and not be able to swim. Here is how you can help.
