The Nacogdoches Public Library is getting this event together to help you with things for the kids to do, now that school is out. They are putting this on as a free event for the community. A petting zoo will be at Festival Park for 'Super Tuesday', June 8th from 10am - 12pm.

Festival Park is located at 507 S. Pecan St. In Nacogdoches. Admission is free, but I would bring some cash just in case.

They are putting the event together with Roselake Ranch at 3632 County Rd. 271 in Garrison. They have all kinds of furry and baby animals to pet. Horses, goats, donkeys, and pigs will all be in the mix.

Roselake Ranch is a destination for many a church, school or family group. They really want to get into you into the farm experience. They are bringing with them just a small taste of what they have to offer.

If you are looking for something to do with the kids over the summer that is real close by, this could be the one. They even do family reunions there. Roselake Ranch has a petting zoo on site, and lots of activities. You could try the bucking bull barrel ride, hay ride, duck races, or a treasure dig.

If you are looking to get back to nature with a group of people this would be the place. Just head out to see them at this event, and see what it's all about.

Just a heads up that the Nacogdoches Public Library and the Recreation Center will be closed May 29th-31st for Memorial Day.

LOOK: Here Are 30 Foods That Are Poisonous to Dogs

To prepare yourself for a potential incident, always keep your vet's phone number handy, along with an after-hours clinic you can call in an emergency. The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center also has a hotline you can call at (888) 426-4435 for advice.

Even with all of these resources, however, the best cure for food poisoning is preventing it in the first place. To give you an idea of what human foods can be dangerous, Stacker has put together a slideshow of 30 common foods to avoid. Take a look to see if there are any that surprise you.
