Pines Theater Brings Back Casablanca
Bringing a classic back to the big screen is always a good thing. Seeing it in a local theater, that most likely showed the film while it was out the first time, is priceless. See it again for the first time. Casablanca, is the most quotable movie of all time. The Pines Theater showing is at 7pm on Saturday September 15th at 7pm in downtown Lufkin.
Tickets are only 5 dollars each to be transported back to 1942 in beautiful downtown Lufkin. They showed it a couple of years ago on it's 75 birthday, and I know it was a packed house, and will be again, so get your tickets early.
The story of Rick Blaine, a cynical world-weary ex-patriate who runs a nightclub in Casablanca, Morocco during the early stages of WWII. Despite the pressure he constantly receives from the local authorities, Rick's cafe has become a kind of haven for refugees seeking to obtain illicit letters that will help them escape to America. But when Ilsa, a former lover of Rick's, and her husband, show up to his cafe one day, Rick faces a tough challenge which will bring up unforeseen complications, heartbreak and ultimately an excruciating decision to make.
Casablanca has the most entries of any film in the American Film Institute’s 100 Greatest Movie Quotes of All Time list. Did you kow that Humphrey Bogart's character Rick says “Here’s looking at you, kid” to Ingrid Bergman’s Ilsa four times? Count them up while you watch.
