I know when I get ride tickets from Evans United Shows on my desk, the PineyWoods Fair is not far off. Kids from all over Nacogdoches County in 4-H and other school programs are competing for shiny medals and ribbons. This year I knew things were getting close when the brownies showed up. Baking and cooking competitions are a big part of the Piney Woods Fair.

Nacogdoches ISD has had a spike in interest for Floral Design. There are 31 students just from NISD participating in the competition, up from 10 last year. Of course other kids are raising animals, and showing off their welding and ag mech projects. Show them some support this year while they participating in all kinds of events during the Piney Woods Fair. Oct. 9-13 at the Exposition & Civic Center located at 3805 NW Stallings Drive in Nacogdoches.
