The second season of AMC’s Preacher may not have caught up to God, but someone’s smiling down on the series. Executive producer Seth Rogen confirm that Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy will return for Season 3 next year.

Even as the second season of Preacher ended in September, Rogen confirmed over Twitter that the AMC series based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s beloved comics will return at an undetermined point in 2018. As The Hollywood Reporter states, Season 3 will consist of the same thirteen episodes that made up Season 2.

You’re warned of full spoilers for Preacher Season 2 from here on out, but the series wasn’t likely to end on such a bleak note as Jesse (Dominic Cooper) and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) taking a dead Tulip (Ruth Negga) to Jesse’s old stomping grounds of “Angelville.” Presumably, Season 3 will feature its comic occupants of Marie L’Angell, Jody and T.C., while we’d expect likely returns of Herr Starr (Pip Torrens), Arseface (Ian Colletti) and the Saint of Killers (Graham McTavish).

We’ll see if Season 3 ends up falling into the same holding patterns as the first and second years, but stay tuned for more details on Preacher’s return in 2018.
