We have lots of Mexican restaurants that didn't work in Lufkin. Recently, lots of Tex-Mex favorites have moved or closed down. Del Rio, Posados, Chipotle and Fuzzy's Taco Shop have all left large buildings around town that would be perfect for a Tia Juanita's Fish Camp. This place features a shrimp heavy menu, and is a quickly becoming a large franchise.

They might have already finished opening a location in Winnie, TX they have been working on. I am sure that opening was pushed back by the recent flooding in the area. Looking at their facebook pages they for sure have restaurants in Jasper, Lumberton, Lake Charles, Port Arthur, and a big location in Beaumont. That one looks to be hopping with live music on the weekends.

Not only do they have shrimp as a specialty, they also have gumbo, fish and boudin. We are kinda close to the coast, but this would be pretty far inland for them. The fact that they already have a Jasper location an hour away, and that Winnie is only 106 miles (hour and a half) away, could be in our favor.

Have you ever eaten at one of these locations? Do you think a Tia Juanita's would do well no matter the location, parking and other issues these old restaurant faced? Let us know in the comments below, and find this story on facebook let us know. This is all just speculation, and in good fun.
