This is a unique way to stick it to Donald Trump.

With many people who don't support the president-elect scared of what America will be like under his watch, a movement has spring up in which people wear safety pins. It's a statement inspired by this past summer's Brexit vote, in which violence erupted following Britain's decision to leave the European Union, a move many felt was against minorities.

Those who do not want to see Trump in office also point to his anti-minority statements, so there's a natural parallel with Brexit, which may explain why the safety pin gesture has taken off statesdie, with many people getting onboard and expressing themselves on social media to let others know they are not alone.
