Are you just throwing away those used mascara wands? Did you know that there is a wildlife refuge that could actually use them? It's called "Wands For Wildlife" and it's a part of the Appalachian Mountain Wildlife Refuge. Their next wand drive is coming up in October.  They have had such a huge outpouring of support for their wand drives, that they now only take them twice a year. October, like I mentioned, and February.

They actually use the wands to remove fly eggs and larva from the fur and feathers of wild animals. They work great because the bristles are close together. I think the wands really bring a light on the cause, so they are also asking for your financial donations. They save all the babies they can out in the wild, using these funds.

Before mailing, wash wands in warm soapy water to remove residual mascara. In October and February, mail form, old wands & donations to: P.O. Box 1211, Skyland, NC 28776. Check postage & packaging requirements at your local post office.
Please do not purchase new wands - the program is for recycling old wands. Instead, donate food or supplies from the Wishlist  omake a donation.
