After 46 years in business local Tex-Mex staple El Chico closed it's doors on New Year's Day 2016. What came next will surprise you. The building still left standing is one of the newer structures in town.

You wouldn't expect that the insides would be completely gutted. In a little over 2 1/2 years since they have closed, the restaurant has been taken down to the studs. Apparently most new businesses that would want to take over the structure would want it that way. I did notice that they left the walk in freezers, those are a real pain to take out. But I am sure they removed the refrigerator parts from it.

There are lots of buildings around town, that few people ever get the chance to go into. Once public places, now for lease or sale, that never see the light of day. If you have the access, and the time, I would love to see more of what's inside of any local buildings. I know I am interested in seeing them. So get out there and take a look. As long as you have permission to be there, we want to see it and share it with our listeners.

If you remember going to El Chico, and are suprised by this, share it and amaze your friends!
