See The Aftermath Of Late Night Storms In Nacogdoches, Texas
Residents in and around Nacogdoches County didn't get much sleep last night, so go easy on them. Storms ran through the area on April 12th, 2022.
Non-stop lightening, heavy rain, hail, and very high winds were reported in the area. Damage is still being assessed and power is out in parts of Nacogdoches.
There are huge oak trees down in Nacogdoches and entire power poles will have to be replaced in certain areas. Oncor is reporting almost 2,000 households in the 75964 area code and over 1,300 in 75965 without power.
Schools Closed All Over East Texas Due To Lack Of Power
Alto, Garrison, Central Heights, and Douglass ISD have closed for the day due to a lack of power. Those are just the ones that I have gotten, and I am sure there are more.
There was also some damage to the SFA Gardens and surrounding areas. They registered four inches of rain that took the Lanana creek out of its banks.
They were excited to get the rain as we needed a good soaking, but this was a bit too much. Clean-up will continue for days following this storm.
Harry's Building Material Loses Part Of Their Roof In Nacogdoches
Harry's Building Material at 7008 North St. in Nacogdoches is closed for the day due to losing half of its roof. They have asked that their customers bear with them as they put things back together and reopen as soon as possible.
The storms could have been much worse, and luckily there were no tornados in the area.
