Update 9:10am So far the damage to the Deep East Texas Area is very low.

RUMORS OF A TORNADO SIGHTING IN ALTO ARE FALSE> National Weather Service reports it was just a shelf cloud. At 8:07 p.m., some trees were reported down.

Some trees down in the Nacogodoches area.

According to Oncor there have been some power outages - 45 homes in the Douglass area, 11 in the Nacogdoches area, and 91 in the Pollok area are without power, always seems that Pollok gets the worst of all weather coming towards Lufkin.

Older - Things might look okay now but we are about to get some heavy rains and possibly worse soon. Things are better than expected though, and I hope that most of this will not come to pass. But if we prepare for the worst, what harm can come of it right? Here is the current warning and watches for the area. The storm is moving at around 40 miles an hour, is currently right on Nacogdoches county and coming south and east a the same time towards Lufkin. High winds in excess of 60 MPH from Minden to Forest (Alto) 19 miles south of Rusk at the moment.
