Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' smash hit 'Thrift Shop' in undoubtedly a very catchy song. But is the ode to finding bargain basement prices a good song? Therein lays the problem for many folks, including Samanta Malson of Longmont, Colorado who now faces jail because 'Thrift Shop' really got under her skin.

Meet Alex G, who does a pretty darn credible version of Macklemore's Thrift Shop. She took some liberties with the words. I have to wonder why she edits some things yet still references a 'skeet' blanket??? Maybe she doesn't know what that means?

Have you REALLY listened to Macklemore's Thrift Shop? The first few times your hear it, it feels like pure pop candy: catchy and totally singable. The next couple of listens, you start catching some of the lyrics, like the one about spending $50 on a t-shirt. So, is this song bubble gum or is it lyrical genius?
