Texas Walmart Recall Alert: 12,000 Cartons Of Chicken Broth
Walmart is pleading with customers to check their pantry for this specific broth. If you recently made a pick up it's time to make sure you don't have any of this.
According to APNews the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) posted a recall notice for over 2,000 cases of chicken broth sold under the Great Value brand. The FDA discovered that the packaging had an issue that could lead to spoilage way before the use-by date.

The recall includes 2,023 family-sized, 48oz cartons produced by Tree House Foods and sold in 242 Walmart locations in nine states. Texas is on the list, and here is how to tell if you have the affected batch.
Check To See If You Got A Bad Batch Of Broth
Check and see if your broth has a Batch (Lot) code 98F09234, Retail Unit UPC 0078742206684, and a Case UPC of 078742066844. You can also confirm by checking the use-by date.

If it is listed as March 25, 2026, take it back for a full refund or discard it immediately. There have been no reports yet of anyone getting sick from the broth.

That would make sense because the packaging is the issue, and over time if not discarded it could go bad. You will likely not notice any change in the product or smell.
Not The Only Recent Walmart Recall
On December 31, 2024, the FDA also pushed a recall for Braga Fresh's washed and ready-to-eat 12oz Marketside Broccoli Florets. There was the possibility of listeria monocytogenes in the product sold in Walmart in 20 states, so check for that as well.
