Top 10 Halloween Costume Ideas for 2022, According to Pinterest
Halloween 2022 is set to be a record breaking spooky season. With Bloomberg predicting people spending more on Halloween than ever before. Some experts expect American consumers to spend more than $10 billion this Halloween.
That's going to be spent on candy, decorations, parties, and of course, costumes. But what will people be dressing up as this year? Well, there are some traditional costumes you can expect, but there are also some 2022'centric outfits you can can plan on seeing as well.
Traditional costumes like vampires, ghosts, witches, princesses, zombies, and other long-term costumes will always reign supreme. But every year there are some Halloween costume ideas that live just in that year.
For example, the Halloween of 2015 where "Left Shark" was a dominant costume. The idea was taken from the Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show where Katy Perry preformed. A backup dancer in a shark costume won the love of the internet, and that shark costume became a huge Halloween choice. But fast-forward to 2022, and it would be weird to see Left Shark on Halloween.
Then there are Halloween costumes that become hot, cool off, only to come back into style years later. We actually see an example of that on this year's list with Lord of the Rings.
Back in the early 2000s, the Lord of the Rings films were dominating the box office, and winning major awards. Seeing people dressed as LOTR characters was expected. However those cooled off through the 2010s. But now, with the franchise seeing new life on Amazon's streaming service, Lord of the Rings drops back into "top" Halloween lists.
