Wanted Man Escapes After Fleeing Crash In Nacogdoches County

On Thursday, July 7th, 2022 Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office received information about John Anthony Martell. Deputies were alerted that he was in the area of FM 1275 and FM 3228.

He is wanted on warrants from other counties. Deputies initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle when it was spotted on FM 3228.

Once the driver realized that he was being pulled over, he sped up. Nacogdoches County Sheriff's deputies and Texas DPS state troopers pursued the driver along 3228 to CR 525 and eventually onto U.S. HWY 59.

The driver matching Martell's description crashed into a fence and then evaded arrest on foot. On Friday, July 8th, 2022, deputies received a report of a stolen camouflaged 2020 Can-Am Defender Max ATV from a ranch in the area.

Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office is now seeking information on the whereabouts of John Anthony Martell. He is 30 years old, about five foot 9 inches tall, and weighs roughly 190 lbs. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
