Wendy’s Misfits Is Closing

If you haven't heard of Wendy's Misfits, you haven't been listening. Wendy's Misfits opened up about three years ago, and since then they've been helping out lost, neglected, or 'misfit' animals around the East Texas area, and really anywhere they can get to. They even went and rescued animals that were displaced by Hurricane Harvey last year, bringing them from the Houston area to a shelter that they set up outside of Lufkin.

But that's all coming to a close.

On a video posted last night to the Wendy's Misfits Animal Rescue Facebook page, Wendy Fulghum, founder of Wendy's Misfits, confirmed that the rescue is, in fact, shutting down.

She cited numerous things that have led to this decision, including vet bills, and how hard Hurricane Harvey was on their rescue. If you watch the video, you will hear all of the reasons behind the decision.

She did, however, confirm that they aren't going to take animals directly to shelters. They still want, and will be looking for, people to adopt the animals that they have in their care. They still need donations to help fund different needs until the dogs are adopted, such as monetary donations, dog food, and things of that nature.
