Per the Texas Department of Public Safety, by appointment only you can apply for your driver’s license and identification card to help slow down the spread of COVID-19.

The following services will include

  • Applying for an original Texas driver license (DL) or identification card (ID)
  • Applying for a Texas learner license
  • Driver license services requiring a skills exam, and
  • Applying for a commercial driver license (CDL) or taking a CDL skills exam

If your license or ID has expired after May 13th, 2020 you are granted a 60 day grace period after the Department provide further public notice that normal operations have resumed.
