One of my favorite ways to pass time is to people-watch. I'm not talking about spying. I'm just talking about going to different places, just to watch people go about their everyday lives, doing what they consider "normal".

One of the biggest things about people-watching is location. You have to know where to go to get the most out of this activity. Yes, Walmart is the obvious choice, with good reason. However, there are many more places to go people-watch without ever going to Walmart. If you aren't sure where to begin, this is the list for you.

    The Mall (Lufkin or Nacogdoches)

The mall is always a good location for people-watching. Why? Because there are lots of people there. You get all kinds of opportunities to see all kinds of different people.

    Banita Creek Hall

If you're from the area, you knew that Banita had to make the list at some point. I mean, you get the people that are trying to impress with their outfits, trying to impress with their dance moves, and the people that - by the end of the night - don't care one way or another, and may not even be sure of who they are...

    Timberland Drive

Yes, you can in fact people-watch while driving. I mean, let's not be stupid. Don't stare intently at the person on the side of the road while driving. That's not a good idea. However, Timberland is a pretty good place to start a people-watching adventure (especially at the intersections).

    South Street

Another opportunity to people-watch while driving. Be careful though, there have actually been some hit and runs on South Street. We have the video to prove it!

    SFA Campus

This is always a good place to go. You see all the students who are trying to discover who they're going to be in life, and expressing themselves freely. It's a pretty entertaining process.
