Alright, East Texas Bird People – What The Heck Is This Thing???

I grew up in East Texas. I feel pretty confident in saying that I'm fairly knowledgeable when it comes to identifying our local wildlife. Plants are another story, but we'll discuss that some other time.

Anyway...this morning as I was getting ready to pull out of my parking lot in Nacogdoches to head to work, I saw this:

I apologize for how small the bird is in the picture. I didn't have a lot of time to get a proper picture. Let me see if I can zoom in a bit for you...

That's about as close as I can get without it getting too blurry...If you're saying that you're still having trouble locating the bird, let's try this one more time...

There. Now you have no excuse. I've looked through a few different websites, and can't seem to locate any "East Texas birds" that look like this one...I found tons of other birds, but none were even close to the one in the picture...

Perhaps it's not local, and just found it's way here...? Maybe I was just looking on all the wrong websites, and the ones I was on just didn't have it listed...? I'm not sure. All I know is that I have no idea as to what kind of bird this is...
