It seems like the list of businesses that are requiring customers to wear face masks as they come in gets bigger each day. We've seen Walmart, Sam's Club, Starbucks, Lowes, Home Depot, and more require their customers to put on face masks before entering their stores.

Starting August 1st, there will be another business added to that list. This one is one of, if not the most, well-known restaurants in America.

I'm referring to McDonald's.

Yes, before you can go inside the golden arches, you will have to wear a face mask, according to a press release from earlier today (July 24th). They said that, "in order to protect the safety of our employees and customers, we will ask all customers to wear face coverings when entering our US restaurants effective August 1." The release went on to say that 82% of their stores are already located in places that are requiring crews and customers to wear face masks. However, this will make it mandatory for all of their locations.

This actually comes as part of a three-part plan that McDonald's is implementing. The three parts are listed below:

  • Face masks/coverings will be required in restaurants
  • Protective panels will be added to front and back of restaurants
  • Dining room re-openings will be paused for another 30 days

They ended the press release by saying this: "We thank you for joining us in this effort to protect our people and the arches."

So, if you're going to McDonald's, beginning August 1st, you will be required to wear a face mask inside the restaurant.
