Huntington McDonald’s Construction Delayed
Huntington has been salivating at the prospect of getting a new McDonald's. Currently, it takes almost an hour round-trip to get some Golden Arches.

News about the new restaurant was first released in early December 2024. At the time, we were hoping to have some french fries on tap in Red Devil country within a year.
Project details were released, indicating that construction at the site at 775 U.S. Highway 69 next to Brookshire Brothers would begin on March 3, 2025. Now, according to the Lufkin Daily News, construction at the location has been delayed.
Why Have They Slowed Down Building Huntington McDonald's?
Huntington City Administrator Bill Stewart said that they were originally supposed to start work on the location on June 1, 2025. That is almost a full three months after what was reported in December.
He went on to say that they are not aware of any problems, and he does not know when construction will begin. The process to bring the restaurant to Huntington started almost a decade ago.
