Celebrate Cinco De Mayo At Kiwanis Park Saturday
This is the 21st year for the Communities Cinco De Mayo Benefit Festival at Kiwanis Park in Lufkin. This is the biggest celebration at the park all year, and is for a great cause.
Cino De Mayo can just be a party, but this is a great family event, that does so much good in our our community.
Every year they crown Miss Cinco De Mayo, this is not a beauty contest. These are accomplished seniors from Lufkin and Diboll that are working hard to raise funds to win scholarships.
They also try to help families a with critically or chronically ill child. Each year they have a new poster child, you can help by filling the pinata. The 2017 Poster Child, Mauricio Hernandez, has been diagnosed with hydrocephalus. Hydrocephalus is the buildup of fluid in the cavities (ventricles) deep within the brain. They are having a fund raiser for him today (May 4th) at Tiffany's Total Fitness Zumbathon at The Grand on First.
This is a good time, and you know there are amazing vendors, and fun things for the kids to do. So head that way this Saturday. It's going on from 11-5p, Check their Facebook page CLICK HERE for more details.
