If you've kept up with this page at all, then there's a good chance that you've seen stories about the University Mall in Nacogdoches. The most recent one was one I wrote about more stores closing in the mall back in February. If you don't remember it, you can check out the story and photos by clicking the link below:

However, when I drove by today, I noticed some changes that were taking place at the mall. I actually went back so that I could get a couple of pictures. This is what I saw:

Now, if you're familiar with the mall, then you already know that where that big, gaping hole is located is where Hibbett Sports used to be. Not anymore, obviously.

So, what's really going on at the mall?

We've heard rumors around town that it's going to be a more of a shopping center, rather than a traditional mall. That would mean that there would not be a hallway, and - even though the stores would be connected by walls - the stores would be more "standalone". But again, that's just a rumor that's circulating around.
