The Lufkin Christmas parade will wind through the streets of downtown Lufkin on Monday, December 6th at 6 pm. The Naranjo Museum of Natural History needs you on their float.

Their very specific ask is that you must own an inflatable dinosaur costume. That might sound strange at first but just imagine it.

A trailer full of bobbing, waving, and jumping inflatable T-Rex dinosaurs will surely turn out to be one of the most interesting floats in the parade.

More Dino Details

The dinosaurs will ride in style on the Naranjo Museum of Natural History float. You can also choose to walk alongside the float to wave at the crowd.

The float will be fully decorated for the event. The theme for the parade this year is "A Home Town Christmas." I don't know how they will decorate the float, but if this casting call is any indication it will be epic.

If you or your child would like to volunteer to help with the museum float or donate an inflatable dinosaur costume contact Veronica Amoe via email at or call 936-404-9202.

If you want your very own float registration opens up tomorrow, November 4th, 2021. Then you will be able to vie for a spot by finding the entry form on the Visit Lufkin website.

They limited the number of floats to 100, so registration will close once all of those spots are taken. If they don't reach their number, registration will close at 5 pm on November 30th.

Individuals, groups, businesses, and community organizations are encouraged to consider participating in the Christmas Parade.
