Experience An Evening in Old Bethlehem at the Expo Center in Lufkin

Lambs, goats and lots of hay are rather common sites at the George H. Henderson Jr., Expo Center in Lufkin.  4-H and FFA members are a staple every year at the venue.  But, this Friday and Saturday nights these animals along with a donkey or several will be part of an annual transformation that brings thousands to the Expo Center.

Lufkin First United Methodist Church is presenting their 36th annual Evening in Old Bethlehem.  From 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on December 10th and 11th, your family is invited to experience something that is truly going to touch your heart and touch your spirit.

Many Christians make pilgrimages to Bethlehem every year to visit the area where Jesus was born.  Most of us will never have the wonderful experience of visiting the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, but a trip to the Expo Center this Friday or Saturday will still fill your soul with love and an understanding of what this time of year is truly about.

The Expo Center becomes a time portat as you and your family step 2,000 years into the past. As you stroll the streets of the ancient marketplace, you’ll see how the residents lived and worked. You’ll meet the inhabitants of the town where Jesus was born and learn about the crafts and skills of olden times.

There is no cost to enter An Evening in Old Bethlehem, but donations are greatly appreciated.  Those contributions are then used to help with the set up for the following year's event.
