Feeling Saucy? Has The Chick-Fil-A Sauce Shortage Hit East Texas?
Try as you might, they are limiting the sauce when you show up to Chick-Fil-A restaurant drive-thru's across the country. Just two little sauces per order in some places. Luckily for me, I just enjoy regular old Heinz Ketchup. Sometimes I spring for the Simply Heinz, you know...'cause it's fancy.
A quick check of their website mentions the sauce issue right at the top of the page. It reads "Industrywide Supply Chain Shortages." It was posted to the main chick-fil-a.com website. Click it and a popup gives you the following information.
"Due to industrywide supply chain shortages, some items, like sauces, may be unavailable. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience".
Isn't that a kick in the gizzards? It's not just your favorite chicken place that has been affected by these shortages. All types of restaurants are having issues right now with sauce supplies.
Even getting ketchup packets, when they used to rain down like water, have been in short supply. These shortages could lead to higher prices across the board for the fast food industry.
When I go to McDonalds my 'go to' order was always "20 piece chicken nuggets, and 21 packets of ketchup." That was only after trying to eat 10 dry nugs, once I ran out of the sauce.
A few days ago I noticed some Chick-fil-A and Polynesian sauce containers in stock at the HEB on Timberland in Lufkin, so checking them out might be fruitful if you tend to drink these sauces and start feeling the squeeze of limitation.
Let us know in the comments, where else have you noticed a shortage of condiments?
