Yes, the headline is accurate. There is a FREE music festival in New Orleans this weekend, and it starts today. April 11th marks the beginning of the 36th Annual French Quarter Festival, and it runs through Sunday, April 14th.

There will be over 1,700 musicians performing on 23 different stages this year in the French Quarter of New Orleans. And, on top of that, there will be food presented from over 60 local restaurants. So, as you can see, it's not ALL about the music. It's also about the culture and the cuisine.

And, something to keep in mind: New Orleans isn't that far away. It's just over a six-hour drive to the French Quarter. I mean, you probably don't want to drive there and back in one day, but it would be worth it to make the drive from Deep East Texas to there for the weekend, right? I'm down for it.
