Get Crafty And Learn Loom Weaving, Finally In Person, With These Free Classes
Looking to learn a new hobby, expand your art skills, or find an artistic activity for your kids this summer? The Museum of East Texas might have exactly what you are looking for.
The MOET is offering a variety of classes from introduction to oil painting to teen sketchbook club to figure drawing to glue batik and more. If you are 6 years of age or older, there is a chance they have a class of interest for you.
You won’t have to worry about having the perfect supplies on hand either because the Museum of East Texas will provide these for you. Just be prepared to have access to Zoom as all their offered classes will be utilizing this platform, except for loom weaving which will be an in-person class in downtown Lufkin.
Log on to your computer or grab your cell phone and pursue the class options and dates, but leave your wallet alone because all their classes are free. If you are interested, sign up as soon as you can because they limit class sizes to ensure a quality experience.
The Museum of East Texas has already had 207 people sign up, but attendees have been signing up from states outside of Texas, so don’t wait too long, as their limit is 290 and their reach is wide.
This is just the beginning of some huge future plans for educational endeavors at the MOET. They are currently fundraising for their Simon W. Henderson, III Education Building.
You can participate in the funding by putting your name on one of the bricks in the large back patio area. The engraved brick fundraiser is going on now.
