Gucci Mane “Wake Up in the Sky” Featuring Kodak Black and Bruno Mars: Listen to New Song
Musically, 2018 has been one of Gucci Mane's least productive years in recent memory. Here we are in mid-September and we have yet to get a solo project from the prolific Atlanta rapper. With his forthcoming album, Evil Genius, on the horizon, Guwop delivers his new single, "Wake Up in the Sky" featuring Kodak Black and Bruno Mars.
The song comes on the heels of Project Baby and Bruno being spotted in the lab together a couple weeks back. Now we have the results of the studio pairing. The banger is a smoothed-out joint produced by Bruno that has a spacey feel. While the "Finesse" singer handles the infectious chorus, Gucci is in flex mode on his verse.
"I stay fresh as hell, take a pic I might as well/Hell, drop the top and take a selfie, my car drives itself," he rhymes. "I got White girls blushing, homie, college girls rushing on me/All my diamonds custom so they clutching and they touching on me, ooh!"
Kodak comes through with his first verse since his release from jail a month ago and he rips off a solid 16. "I'm so fly, don't need a flight attendant/Bih too lit don't need no pendant," he raps. "I ain't never had no pot to piss in, yeah, now my records trending/Oh my, I went from stealing bikes to flying on G5/I don't know why I smoke this Cherry Pie so much but this my life."
This one is definitely for the young, fly and flashy.
This is the second single Gucci has put out in as many months, following the Lil Pump-assisted "Kept Back." Back in July, Guwop teased the Evil Genius album with a cinematic trailer. There is still no solid release date for the album, which will be Gucci's 13th solo studio LP.
In other Gucci-related news, he recently announced plans to triple his worth in the next two years. Money moves.
