Nacogdoches Hastings Building Is Gone
I remember one of the last times I went to Hastings in Nacogdoches. Harry Potter books were all the rage, and one was about to come out. We did a late-night promotion of the book and were there when it went on sale.
I don't remember exactly which book it was, but it was likely after the final book in 2007, so perhaps one of the Fantastic Beasts? I also had a K-Fox Streetcast there exactly ten years ago today in 2015 that started their going-out-of-business sales.
While I was there, I started having vivid memories of working at Hastings in Lufkin.
Back in the mid-90s, instead of being a DJ, I was selling CDs and renting VHS tapes to everyone near where the Planet Fitness is now in the Lufkin Townsquare 4 shopping center.
I was very good at my job, checking people out, and putting up videos faster than anyone there. On top of being a speedy cashier and re-stocker, it was also my job to keep things squeaky clean.

Dirt Cheap Building Turns Back To Dirt
All that to say, "Hey, they tore down the Hastings in Nacogdoches." I thought it might live on like the one in Lufkin, but the stand-alone building was too good of a location to languish after Dirt Cheap closed, so now it's just dirt.
