Is it high steaks, or high stakes? Well I guess that just depends on how well you can cook. Tomé Catering is turning up the heat for a good cause!

Saturday, April 1st at 10 am, Tomé is having a Chopped competition at the Pitser Garrison Civic Center. This chopped competition was created with the amazing Angelina County Culinary Students in mind. All of the proceeds raised at this event will be given to students who are passionate about Culinary Arts! Check out the event page on Facebook!

Entry for 12 and older is $5, and there will be fun activities for children, booths, and FOOD TRUCKS on site for lunch!!!

The way a chopped competition works is the cooks will be given a selection of unknown foods too cook in an allotted time. So when they show up they have no idea what they will have to cook, and this in my mind, is a test of a true chef. They have to take the varied, sometimes unrelated items and make something that will wow the judges.

They will have other ingredients in the pantry, but must use all the items that they received at the start in some way.  It will be interesting to see what they come up with!

Please come out and support the cause!
