How To View The April 2022 Partial Solar Eclipse In Texas

The first solar eclipse of the year is coming up on April 30th, 2022. Sadly we won't be able to see it in person in Texas, but there is a way to join in on this astrological event.

According to space.com this eclipse will be only visible in Antarctica, parts of South America, and the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. You should never look directly at the sun during an eclipse, so viewing this one online isn't a bad idea.

There is a YouTube Channel with a live stream of the event, so you won't miss it. The best time to see it starts at 1:45 pm with its peak at 3:41 pm and ending at 5:37 pm Central Standard Time. It's a partial eclipse, so we will only get about 60% blockage, but that's a big difference if you are there to see it.

When Is The Next Solar Eclipse We Can See In Texas 

There will not be a total solar eclipse in 2022 for us to see in Texas. We are a couple of years away from a total solar eclipse with visibility in Texas.

If you are looking to see that one put April 8th, 2024 in your calendar now. That eclipse will be seen in Texas. Totality will actually be visible from the central US, Mexico, and eastern Canada.
