
Huntington Woman Caught On Video Threating Family With SKS Rifle
Huntington Police have arrested a woman who they say threatened to kill a family member with an SKS rifle. According to KLTV 7, she pointed the rifle at them while making verbal threats.
Police allege that they have witnesses and video evidence in their possession that Tonya Ann Reese, 37, of Huntington, committed the offense. She was arrested and booked into the Angelina County Jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Without even discharging the weapon, she got a second-degree felony charge and is now in the Angelina County Jail. No bail has been set at this time.

In Texas, the threat of harm is the same as intentionally causing bodily harm. If the offense happens to a family member, like this one, it could be elevated.

The threats might have been a third-degree felony, but due to the video evidence and the fact that the victims of the threats were family members, it could have upped the charge an entire degree in our state law.

According to FindLaw, this charge comes into play when you threaten to shoot others with guns or hit them with cars. Without knowing all the circumstances of the case, she could have ended up serving less time, if found guilty, by committing the same actions against random people rather than direct family members.
