Is it even possible to name the best toppings for a hot dog? The possibilities are endless!

A couple of weeks ago I went to a Texas Rangers game and as much as I love baseball, I mostly went just because of the company and the dollar hot dogs. That's right, I'm a sucker for delicious, cheap food. That being said, I was loading up my hot dogs when I started to get heckled. This older gentleman was criticizing the face that I was putting ketchup and mustard on my dog. I didn't tell him that this dog was for a friend and that I planned to consume my dogs plain, but asked him what he preferred instead. He said with a smile... mayonnaise.

*bleck*

Of course everyone has their own opinion as to what is good on a hot dog. I didn't judge this man (openly), but it did get me thinking. Recently I found a list of the Best Regional Hot Dog Styles in America and I found that Texas was featured on the list. In addition to hot dog fixins originating in Tennessee and Georgia, Thrillist heralded the Texas Dog from the Lone Star State.

This dog is loaded with Monterey Jack cheese, salsa, jalepenos and sometimes (if you're feeling fancy) you slather on the chili. It's messy, cheesy, spicy and a heck of a lot better than mayonnaise. I hope that man reads this... Sorry, not sorry.
