It's back-to-school time, which means our social feed will soon be filled with first-day-of-school photos. While it's definitely a time to celebrate your child, you will want to be careful as to what information you are posting online. You never know who is going to see these posts.

The Victoria Police Department has a great sense of humor.

Our friends at the Victoria Police Department have posted some safety tips to ensure your child's safety. These are some easy ways to make your back-to-school photo safer to share, because some information should remain confidential.
Don't post information such as:
  • Your child's full name
  • Your child's school name
  • Your child's teacher's name
  • Your child's birthday
  • Also leave out location markers (home address, school name, or daycare facility)
You can still capture that first-day-of-school smile without putting too much personal information out there. Keep the memories but protect the details. Check out the example that the Victoria Police Department posted. They have such a great sense of humor.
