Geek’d Con Shreveport 2026: Ultimate Visitor Guide
It is almost time for one of the absolute best summer traditions in Shreveport-Bossier! Geek’d Con 2026 officially takes over the Shreveport Convention Center starting Friday, August 14th through Sunday, August 16th.
Now, full disclosure: I’m definitely not your typical comic con attendee. Yet somehow, this event has become one of my absolute favorite highlights of the entire summer. Let’s be honest, a huge part of that appeal is that it’s hosted indoors with sweet, sweet air conditioning in the middle of August!
Whether you’re a seasoned con-veteran or you’re a total newbie tagged along by your super-fan friends, here are my ultimate survival tips to help you navigate Geek’d Con like a pro:
Wear (and dress for) pure comfort: Leave the uncomfortable outfits at home unless you’re in full-on cosplay. You will easily log well over 15,000 steps in a single day!
Cash is king: While ATM access is available, many local vendors prefer cash, plus, it makes tracking your fun budget so much easier.
Basic courtesy is mandatory: Remember, it’s peak Louisiana summer. Rock that extra deodorant so everyone stays happy in close quarters!
Plan your downtown food stops: Start your morning right with coffee at Rhino Coffee Downtown. When lunch hits, grab a bite at The Noble Savage. Pro tip: Catch a downtown pedicab to and from lunch so you don't lose your prime spot in the free parking garage!
Don't rush the experience: Give yourself the entire day to take it all in. Why rush through a massive, air-conditioned convention when it’s 95° outside?
Be mindful of guests and artists: Be kind to the actors, vendors, and creators. If there's a long line behind you, keep your chat brief so everyone gets their moment.
Share the hype: Snap those photos, tag your favorite local vendors, and let everyone know what an awesome time you're having!
