I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Self-defense is not something that you want to use. However, if you find yourself in a tough situation, you need to be ready to use it. Martinez Martial Arts Offering Two Women's Self-Defense Classes

If you aren't familiar with Martinez Martial Arts, that's the martial arts school in Nacogdoches located at 130 North University Drive #102, led by TJ Martinez. This month, they are offering women's self-defense classes on back-to-back weekends.

The first class - Level 1 - will take place on Saturday, October 17th from 9:00 AM to Noon. The second class - Level 2 - will be held the next Saturday, October 24th, and will also be from 9:00 AM to Noon. These classes are only open to women, ages 13 and older, and each class costs $25. Also, according to the Martinez Martial Arts Facebook post about the classes, if you register for both classes you'll receive a special discount.

How to Register for Women's Self Defense Classes

Something else to keep in mind is that you must register in advance, you cannot show up the day of the class and expect to take it. To register you can call or text this number: 936-205-1908.

Education is important, we know that. Education on how to keep yourself safe is even more important. For that reason, you should probably go ahead and put these two dates down in your calendar. A few hours for a couple of Saturdays to learn how to defend yourself, should the need arise, is time well spent.
