Nacogdoches Niners Are Seeking Out Host Families for Players

One of the things that the Mid-America League has set up not just for the Niners, but for all the teams in the league, is the opportunity for community members to be host families for the players. What these people do is take a player in and provide them housing for the season, which runs from May into August.

According to the Nacogdoches Niners Host Family information from their website, the host families will provide these things:

• A private bedroom for the player during the season
• A welcoming home environment and basic meals
• A supportive, family atmosphere away from home

Since the season is less than four months long, it wouldn't make sense to sign a full lease for an apartment in Nacogdoches, and renting something along the lines of an AirBNB for that duration would be pretty costly for the players. The host families would give the players a nice place to stay, without running up a huge price tag for them.

What Do Families Get in Exchange for Hosting Players?

In addition to helping out a player - or more - with housing, host families receive some other perks as well. They get complimentary season tickets to the Nacogdoches Niners games, invitations to things like host family events and exclusive team activities.
