SFA Basketball Takes on Sam Houston During Football Homecoming Week
Most people around Nacogdoches are prepping for SFA Homecoming Week which begins on Monday, October 19th. If you haven't heard about it, you can check out the full lineup of events from our earlier post. What you might not have realized, or maybe even read over without giving it much thought is that there is also going to be an SFA basketball game that week, as well.
SFA Basketball Exhibition Game Against Sam Houston
According to the SFA Jacks athletic website, there will be an exhibition game on Friday, October 23, 2026, starting at 6:00 PM at William R. Johnson Coliseum in Nacogdoches. Now, I say exhibition, because this isn't a regular matchup for these schools, since the Lumberjacks are part of the Southland Conference and the Bearkats are part of Conference USA.
However, they're going to be playing each other in this special pre-season game, and it's going to be on SFA's home court right in the middle of Homecoming Week.
Tickets to SFA vs. Sam Houston
According to the SFA ticket webpage, tickets start at $10-15 to go see the exhibition game. However, they are also offering a special Homecoming all-in-one package for multiple sporting events. For $24, you get tickets to the basketball game, SFA Women's Volleyball on Saturday, and the SFA Homecoming Football game on Saturday, as well. Like I said, it's kind of an all-in-one thing.
