Beat The Heat At Lufkin’s Free Community Pool
The start of summer is just around the corner, and now that kids are out of school, they need a way to use up all that extra energy and cool off. Jones Park Pool is now officially open to fill that need at 1502 Martin Luther King Drive in Jones Park.

This is the City of Lufkin's only free pool, and it will be open Monday - Friday from 11 AM to 5 PM. Only 28 people can swim at the same time, and there are updated safety procedures for the 2025 swimming season.
There is now a swim test for citizens who want to enter the deep end of the pool. You will receive a bracelet that lets the lifeguards know you are safe to be on that side of the pool
Jones Pool Follows National Safety Guidelines To Protect Swimmers
Other rules include that swimmers are only allowed in the fenced-in area around the pool. Showers are required before admission to the pool, and time limits are enforced during peak times.
