Katy Perry was certainly one of the biggest hitmakers of 2011, but she was also one of the year's most fascinating people. At least, that's according to Barbara Walters, who highlights Katy in her annual 10 Most Fascinating People special, airing tonight at 8:30 p.m.

During Katy's chat with Walters, she describes how she developed her unique fashion sense and style, which it turns out is a mixture of -- believe it or not -- Japanese culture and rockabilly fashion.

In addition to Katy, Walters also chose Simon Cowell, the Kardashian family, Donald Trump, New York Yankee Derek Jeter, Modern Family stars Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Pippa Middleton for her list -- ironic, since Katy spoofed Pippa on Saturday Night Life this past weekend. The #1 most fascinating person of the year is former Apple CEO Steve Jobs, who passed away in October this year.
