Seems that feud (or publicity stunt, depending on your level of cynicism) between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj isn't over just yet, because during a 'Nightline' interview with Barbara Walters, Mariah threw major shade at her fellow 'American Idol' judge.

Meow, indeed.

During the sit-down, Walters asks Carey about Minaj's song 'Hell Yeah,' which is supposedly about 'American Idol' and includes the oh-so-eloquent lyric, "I'm quick to check a bitch if she is out of line."

After reading the lyrics out loud to Carey, Walters asks her if she's the bitch in question. And hearing Barbara deliver the line with such gravitas endears her to us even more. Ask the hard questions, Barbara! Is Mariah Carey the bitch? Ask her. ASK HER. Inquiring minds want to know.

"Don't know. Don't know what she's singing. I didn't know she sang. I thought she rapped. Or whatever," Carey responded with a slight ghetto tinge while at the same time looking annoyed and the kind of dismissive that only an honest to God diva can convincingly pull off. (Confidential to VH1: That's how it's done.)

When asked if she thinks their fight is "detracting" from the show, Mimi responded, "I think it's a classic, classy show and it didn't need this. I really think it was just a crass moment."

Let's remember this is a woman who was once held prisoner in her own home. She's seen actual drama. So it's not surprising she's treating Nicki in much the same way one would treat a petulant child.

Carey and Minaj recently kissed and made up -- publicly, anyway -- so now all that remains is a long season of passive-aggressive behavior when 'American Idol' premieres Jan. 16.
