Kendrick Lamar Says He’s Got More New Music Coming
There may not have been any truth to that fantastical Matrix theory about Kendrick Lamar dropping a new album on Easter, but K. Dot fans fear not. During a special DAMN. autograph signing in his native Compton, Calif. yesterday (April 20), Kung Fu Kenny revealed that he does, in fact, have some new music coming our way.
Kenny's announcement didn't appear to be a planned one, it just so happened one of his TDE cohorts was doing an Instagram Live session at the time when K. Dot said, “I got some more music.”
Kendrick didn't offer up anything about when this new music will surface, or what sort of project it would be. All we know for sure is Kendrick fans have quite a bit to be excited about. So does Kenny himself.
Recently, it was revealed DAMN. is on pace to sell close to 500,000 album equivalent units in its first week, which would be the best opening week total of K. Dot's career thus far. If you've listened to the project, you're probably not suprised by the news.
In another bit of good Kendrick-related news, DAMN. is also going to be released on vinyl starting in July. K. Dot is releasing the special vinyl edition of his newest album through his official website. You can pre-order one today.
You can check out the video of K. Dot's autograph signing session below. His new music announcement arrives at around the 21-minute mark.
