This terrible accident happened less than a month ago and as we continue to heal, there has already been a hearing in the Angelina County Courthouse in Lufkin, Texas. According to KTRE the proceedings took take place in Angelina County because the defendant and driver of the 18-wheeler, Antonio Sandoval, lives in the area.
Sandoval Failed To Yield Right Of Way According To TxDot
Graylan Spring’s parents have filed a lawsuit against Sandoval and Hughes Trucking. They have retained Mike Love as their attorney.
The preliminary hearing was held to establish the existence of evidence in the form of a dash cam in the 18-wheeler. The dashcam has now been located, and Angelina County officials now have the video.
There will be a second hearing next week, and both lawyers will bring experts to download the footage. Each lawyer has also scheduled a time to have access to the vehicles involved in the crash.
According to TxDOT, the truck pulled into the highway from Plant Road failing to yield the right of way.
