Many East Texas Athletes Are Heading to State Track & Field Meet

The last hurdle to earn a spot at the UIL Texas State Track & Field Meet has been cleared.  Last week, throughout the Lone Star State, regional track and field meets were held to determine the best of the best of the best...sir. (Sorry, Men in Black reference)

Many athletes had to compete in above normal temperatures and breezy conditions.  But, after the final gun sounded, quite a few athletes from Deep East Texas punched their tickets to the State Meet which will be held May 12-14 on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin.

Below, you will find the names of those area athletes and teams who will be advancing to state.  I have posted their names, schools, classifications, as well as their qualifying times, jumps, leaps, vaults, or throws.
