According to a press release, an ongoing operation by the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office into the distribution of methamphetamine in Nacogdoches County has led to the seizure of several pounds of narcotics yesterday afternoon.

During the investigation the Sheriff’s Office identified Jonathan Tillery as a main target of dealing large amounts of methamphetamine in the Etoile area, and other parts of Nacogdoches County. The Sheriff’s Office also received information on a Brett Taliaferro that lives in the Lufkin area that was also a major supplier of narcotics, supplying both Angelina and Nacogdoches Counties.

Conducting undercover operations, the Sheriff’s Office tracked the suspects to a motel room in Nacogdoches County. The suspects were observed leaving the area, and a marked patrol unit conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle yesterday afternoon on South Street.

Brett Taliaferro who had outstanding felony warrants out of Angelina County ran from the vehicle into a wooded area. The other two subjects that were in the car were taken into custody.

Seized from the vehicle were 26 ounces of Methamphetamine, 20 pounds of Codeine, 14 grams of Mushrooms, 46 grams of Synthetic Marijuana and 26 grams of Xanax. There were also 8 guns seized from the vehicle.

Jonathan Tillery, 34, from Huntington was charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance - a 1st and 2nd degree felony, Unlawful Possession of a firearm by a felon - a 3rd degree felony, and hindering apprehension of a known felon - a 3rd felony.

Deshay Melton, 29, from Lufkin was also arrested for hindering apprehension of a known felon.

Brett Taliaferro, 27, from Lufkin remains on the run..  Numerous felony warrants have been filed on him.

Last week the Sheriff’s Office arrested Jacob Miller after seizing nearly a pound of methamphetamine from him.

Sheriff Jason Bridges, stated that during the course of this investigation, the Sheriff’s Office have been able to establish that Miller, Taliaferro and Tiller had strong ties together in the distribution of methamphetamine in the East Texas area. It is believed they were moving pounds of methamphetamine every week.

The Sheriff’s Office is seeking information of on the whereabouts of Brett Taliaferro who is a wanted felon out of Nacogdoches and Angelina Counties. Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency or crime stoppers.
